Triton is proposing the installation of a commercial wave-energy producing platform utilising Carnegie’s CETO™ technology to produce up to 20MW of Bermuda’s national energy demand, which currently peaks at about 120MW. Triton proposes to produce this zero-emissions electricity for BELCO to distribute through their grid. CETO™ can also be used to produce desalinated water. This will be the first CETO™ installation in the western hemisphere, with a target installation date of 2021/2022.
We are looking to install CETO™ off Bermuda’s south shore, at a depth of about eighty feet. The overall area we would require is about the size of five football fields. We will be working with the community to determine the best offshore location to ensure the project can maximize benefits to the community.
